How the server works for you and the uptime concept

Whenever you upload your website for hosting you’re provided with space in the servers. Your website content is been stored in the servers. Whenever someone requests for your website a command is sent to the server. The server then searches your site and uploads it on the internet browser. The time take to these operations is called as hosting uptime. Hosting uptime is mainly measured in percentage. Many webhosting companies aim for the uptime to be 99.99%. There are a few problems which they need to be fixed before they aim for that percentage. They obviously know how to take care of downtime and will provide you with discounts as and when possible.
